First GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF TFI “TOBACCO PREVENTION” CLUBS

Tobacco Free Initiative has organized for the World No Tobacco Day 2008 the
closing ceremony of its activities at UNESCO Palace, Beirut on the 7th of June
2008. The event under the theme “Tobacco Free Youth”, was supported by the
World Bank, the World Health Organization and was patronized by the
Ministries of Education and of Health.
The event, animated by Tania MEHANNA (journalist at LBC), was a great success
not only because it gathered many public figures from the political, social and
economical fields but also because it gave a chance to a very enthusiastic group
of some 200 young people coming from different schools to express themselves
and back up their creative projects done within the clubs. The purpose of their
 projects was preventing tobacco consumption in their schools, families and direct
environment as well as winning the award for their club. Members of the clubs
